Milwaukee has added a grass trimmer to the M18 FUEL outdoor range in Europe, running on the same 18V packs as its tool line. It arrives with a bump-feed head taking 2.0mm line, three speed settings, and a shoulder harness in the box.

The speeds are 0–4,600, 0–5,400 and 0–6,200 rpm. Milwaukee's case for having three rather than a trigger and a governor is the usual one for battery outdoor kit — light trimming does not need the top setting, and running below it is what turns one pack into an afternoon.

On cutting width, the release contradicts itself: the body text says 35–40cm, while the specification list at the end gives 25–40cm, with the string head quoted at 40cm. Worth resolving against the spec sheet before anyone orders on the strength of the lower figure.

The trimmer is 177cm long and Milwaukee puts it at 5.6kg with an M18 FB8 battery, measured to EPTA — a figure that includes the pack, which is the only way a weight for a battery trimmer means anything. A loop handle and the included harness carry that weight; a guard and the bump-feed spool are standard.

No price and no on-sale date were given. The release was issued by Milwaukee's European arm on 31 July and points readers to milwaukeetool.eu for stockists and video.

Where it sits

Milwaukee's outdoor range runs on the same M18 batteries as its drills and saws — a platform it now puts at more than 325 tools in Europe — which is the whole argument for a trade buyer choosing it over a dedicated garden brand.
